Practice and Possibility

Learning, tools and experiences for people whose work is working with people

Good practice grows through curiosity, reflection, experimentation and learning with others.

Soulgen creates participatory and experiential learning experiences that strengthen the confidence, skills and practice of people working alongside young people and communities. Rather than simply delivering information, we create opportunities to explore ideas, practise approaches, share experience and translate learning into action.

Drawing on community development, youth participation, facilitation, storytelling, co-design and experiential approaches, our learning is practical, creative and tailored to the people and context.

Learn, experiment and strengthen your practice

We offer one-off workshops, professional development, facilitated learning experiences and longer-term capacity-building programs for teams, organisations, practitioners and community leaders.

Asset-Based & Place-Based Community Development

Interactive and experiential training in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) and Place-Based Community Development (PBCD), exploring how strengths, assets, relationships and place can become foundations for community-led change.

Participants develop practical ways to uncover local assets, strengthen relationships and social capital, and grow participation, collaboration and collective action.

Available through our Lens on Strengths and Place Matters learning series, blending practical tools, reflection and experiential learning.

Youth Development Practice

Practical, participatory learning for people and organisations working alongside young people. We explore youth participation and co-design, strengths-based and relational practice, ethics and boundaries, safeguarding, referral, youth leadership and creating meaningful opportunities for young people to influence and lead.

From Youth 101 to tailored workforce development, we strengthen the wider ecosystem around young people while recognising and supporting the distinct role of professional Youth Work.

Camp Venture Facilitation & Training

Learn through play with Camp Venture — Soulgen’s experiential game for exploring Asset-Based Community Development, collaboration, leadership and community-led change.

We offer facilitated Camp Venture experiences as well as training for practitioners and facilitators who want to use the game in their own work. Participants learn by doing – discovering assets, building relationships, navigating challenges and turning possibilities into collective action.

“I’ve had a very enriching experience co-designing a workshop for widening student participation with Dimitrios. He brings to the table not only his broad experience working with communities and youth development, but also a deep understanding of various frameworks and methodologies for fostering inclusivity in diverse and challenging contexts.”
